Proposal: William and Kyle
Objective: Eliminate a confirmed Sabbat presence, raising the profile and status of coterie members.
Plan: Having confirmed the target - a sabbat pack consisting of one Gangrel, one Lasombra and one Caitiff thaumaturgist - William and Kyle proceeded to recruit two other kindred to execute their plan. These were Ferar and Eustace. The general plan was to raid the multi-storey car park being used by the targets, either by distracting the armed gang from the outside, or by sneaking past them. It was decided that attacking the pack while there were only two of them present increased the odds of success and survival exponentially.
After some discussion the plan settled on was one of sneaking in, as the strength of the gang's presence was deemed too great to counter through any other means and insufficient influence could be mustered to draw them away prior to the attack. Instead a plan relying on personal resources and abilities was agreed upon. While William and Kyle proceeded to conduct final reconnaissance, Eustace and Ferar secured resources needed for the mission.
It was agreed that since the targets slept in the ground beneath a pack of shovelheads, these would need to be dispatched quickly and without much ado. It was decided that the best way of doing this would be to cuff them together and then set them on fire.
Insertion was to be conducted via van to the nearby area, then under the powers of obfuscate and using knowledge of the guards' patrol routes. A direct passageway to the under levels was located in reconaissance and would be used to bypass the majority of the defences. The raid depended upon an early dusk strike in order to catch the intended targets while they slept, a plan which was augmented by the fact that three of the four participants were notorious Light Sleepers.
Execution: The plan started roughly with a patrolling guard almost blowing the whole thing when the van parked in gang turf nearby. He was silently dispatched and disarmed. The insertion phase began smoothly with Eustace and Ferar walking in Obfuscate with trained weapons while William and Kyle advanced ahead without. By using the timing of the guards' patrol routes, entrance to the passageway was secured without problems using a ritual that William provided, enabling all participants to pass through a ground hatch as if incorporeal.
Once inside the group found themselves in a stairwell and Ferar used obfuscate to scout ahead. He passed a guard and killed him before he could discover the others. The group continued on to the ground floor, noting a party on the second basement level that would mask a lot of the gunfire.
Once downstairs Kyle opened the door to the corridor, allowing Ferar to enter. He noted three guards with another two patrolling further down. Waiting for an opportune moment when the guards were furthest apart, he then proceeded to lathe the three closest with rifle fire using Quietus as a silencer. William gutted one with a sword, while Kyle and Eustace proceeded to enter the corridor. Ferar finished the two wounded guards before turning to confront the now alerted patrol who were doubling back down the corridor toward them.
William and Eustace proceeded to attack the barricade housing the targets, while Kyle and Ferar confronted the gang who were rushing to stop them. A short firefight ensued, with Kyle and Ferar withdrawing while leaving white phospherous grenades in their path, which had the effect of blocking the corridors and killing many enemies. Eustace and William got through the door and there was a lull in the fighting, which the group used to cuff the shovelheads and douse them with petrol.
The group waited while the burning mess frantically perished, then prepared themselves to confront what would inevitably be a difficult and brutally close encounter. Ferar raked the ground with rifle fire, causing the targets to erupt from the soil. While they were disoriented, the other group members hurled grenades at their feet. As these went off, the group then switched to shotguns loaded with Rhodesian Jungle Rounds, which were inflicting huge amounts of damage. Ferar was injured in a desperate charge attack by the Lasombra, and Kyle was targetted by the Caitiff, but both fell in short order and the group used their defeat and capture to menace their way out the way they had come.
Aftermath: The plan was a smooth success, far smoother than originally believed. Two of the three pack members were taken for questioning, the location of the third was known to the coterie and, as it happened, turned out to be an easier catch than first thought, as she walked into elysium only a few nights later under the guise of being an Anarch.
While no official reward has been offered by the court or its prince, the profile of the coteries members has increased somewhat. The initial objectives of gaining further status have yet to be achieved.
The capture of the two sabbat yielded some information (to be confirmed), and they have now been destroyed.
The activities of the Tarantulas gang have been erratic, with the captured sabbat promising they would "go to war", but with the police influence of Aron Kiln stifling their home turf this has apparently not manifested. It is also believed that many members of the gang were ghouls, and that the surviving Gangrel may have embraced fresh shovelheads before turning up to Elysium.
